Lucy Greayer

DIRECTOR

Lucy began shipping horses with the CBA in Newmarket in 1998.She has organized shipments of some of the most high profile thoroughbreds including to and from the Breeders Cup, Canadian International and Japan Cup. As well as looking after these long haul runners, she also arranges short haul charters for runners travelling to Group 1 races across Europe. In addition, she looks after all the North American routes for clients, from eventers to ponies as well as thoroughbreds wishing to relocate. Lucy enjoys hunting her Connemara ‘Dave’ when work allows.

James MacEwan

DIRECTOR

James began his long career with LEP Bloodstock before being appointed a Director at the CBA in Newmarket. James was subsequently approached to head up the Global Logistics for the Maktoum family and set up Janah Management Company of which he was Managing Director for 15 years. James’ previous experience includes arranging the Global Logistics for the 2005 World Endurance Championships in Dubai and the Al Maktoum Memorial Challenge in 2006. For nineteen years, James managed all the global runners in and out of Dubai. James looks after LG’s Middle Eastern Routes as well as our large Global logistical moves such as the Longines Global Champions Tour. He can also be found at all major Sales, from Keeneland to Goffs, on hand to help clients getting any purchases home. James is heavily involved in many country sports & hunts whenever possible.

James Luck

DIRECTOR

A Founding Partner of LG with Lucy, James has been shipping horses for 25 years. From three Olympic Games to HM The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Pageant, James has a wealth of experience in handling highly complex logistical moves on a large scale. Following a two-year period with his young family teaching in Sri Lanka, James is now back in the office and at the sales dealing with operations throughout the busiest periods of the year. A long time ago, he rode as a pretty moderate Amateur Jockey and still rides out in his home village of Lambourn on a regular basis. In another life, he had a burning desire to be on the West End Stage and holds a First-Class BA (Honours) Degree in Theatre, a Diploma in Teaching Performing Arts and he teaches LAMDA and Musical Theatre when time allows! He lives with his long-suffering wife, 2 daughters and an array of animals in The Valley of the Racehorse and is delighted to be back connecting with clients both old and new.

Tammie Pick

Tammie joined LG with James MacEwan and runs our Newmarket office. She was PA to the Director of Racing at Newmarket Racecourse and joined James MacEwan at Janah Management on inception in 2000. Tammie was Transport Manager at Janah in charge of European and UAE horses. In addition, Tammie holds her Transport Managers Certificate of Competence and the Foundation Award in International Trade. Tammie looks after the minutiae of our Middle Eastern work as well as being James’ right hand when it comes to the big logistical events. Tammie has 2 horses at home who she competes locally.

Ruth Bordiss

Ruth started her long career with horses as a groom to HRH The Princess Royal and subsequently moved into the racing as she wanted to go faster!
Several years as a travelling head girl, led to 25 years in horse transport driving horses all over Europe. Ruth holds her International Operators Licence and managed the office and ran operations for Lambourn Racehorse Transport(LRT) for many years. We are delighted that Ruth has joined the team and her wealth of experience in dealing with European Road Transport has proved invaluable in navigating the highly complicated challenges posed by Brexit.

In her spare time, Ruth is a professional cake maker (Bake-Off – watch out!) maker of glass ornaments and house renovator and supports Luton Town FC !. She lives in Aldbourne with her husband, John and springer spaniel, Miller and is warmly welcomed to the team at LG

Karina Mallett

Having been born & brought up in Jersey, Karina has been involved with horses all her life and qualified as an Assistant Instructor. She taught all ages and was Head Girl at a livery yard in Jersey, where she was also a regular extra with her horse in the TV series Bergerac!

She moved to the UK in 2004 and after making her home in Oxfordshire, she began driving for Lambourn Racehorse Transport, driving horses around the UK, Ireland and Europe.

After 10 years she hung up her steering wheel and became General Manager in LRT’s office, where she was involved in the day to day running of the business including daily horse movements and looking after the fleet of vehicles and drivers.
In her spare time Karina loves cycling and walking with her partner. They are avid Chelsea fans and try to get to as many games as possible.

Kathryn Bowen-Jones

Hailing from Knoxville, Tennessee. Kathryn comes from an Eventing background. She has worked for Olympic Gold Medallist, Tom MacEwan, the New Zealand High Performance Team and Wayfarer Eventing. As well as a wealth of equine experience, Kathryn brings marketing and communication skills from her time with H-Power and running the hospitality for Keeneland Sales in Kentucky. In addition, Kathryn holds a BSc (Hons) Degree in International Equine Business Management from the RAU. Kathryn primarily works on running our day-to-day shipping to and from the USA as well as assisting at the sales and airport operations. Married in 2021, she and her husband, Roly, live in Aldbourne with their vocal Dachshund, Beans. In her spare time, Kathryn enjoys travelling and all things equestrian.

Carolyn Harty

Carolyn grew up in a family steeped in horse racing and equestrian history with Grandfather, Eddie Sr winning the 1968 Grand National and Father, Eddie Jr and brother Patrick training on the Curragh. Carolyn rode briefly as an Amateur jockey before following her passion for Show Jumping. Following a first class honours degree in Business Management, Carolyn came to the UK as racing secretary to Nicky Henderson for 5 years and we were very fortunate that she joined the LG Team in October 2022. Carolyn runs our Middle Eastern desk on a day to day basis and also takes care of anything wild, wacky or unusual including a recent shipment of Alpacas. When Carolyn isn’t competing her star showjumper, Konnor ,she is more often than not found in the company of her dog, Rory and her iron-man husband, Clive!

Frankie Amatt

From a family steeped in horses, Frankie grew up via the hunting field, pony club and point to pointing. On leaving school, Frankie “did it the hard way” and spent a total of 23 years in the sport. In that time, Frankie looked after Group 1 winners for the late Sir Henry Cecil and eventually became traveling head to Richard Hughes. In November 2022, she joined the LG Team working in the road department and is already proving beyond capable in handling some of LG’s largest accounts. Frankie will also be found in our Newmarket office during sales season. In her free time, she competes her ex-racehorse, Shogun and dotes on her border terrier, Ruby who joins the ever increasing pack of hounds at LG.

Tim Rolfe

Tim is our senior professional flying groom and brings unrivalled experience to the role. Having been involved with every World Championship and Olympic flight since 1988 he has flown the majority of Olympic gold medal winning horses for the past 25 years as well as virtually every breed of horse to every conceivable destination. Tim is an assessor for the NPTC/City and Guilds grooms program and is a vital and important member of our team.

Brian Taylor Jr

One of the most experienced flying grooms in the World, Brian is the son of Derby winning jockey Brian Taylor. Too tall to be a jockey(!) Brian started out in Stud Work in Newmarket before progressing into the world of flying horses. Brian has accompanied some of the top racehorses around the world and is very often in demand by leading trainers and owners.

Kim Rolfe

Kim is a fully qualified aircraft loadmaster. Initially based with Air Canada Cargo then joining Cathay Pacific in London. Kim worked for Equitrans in Dubai and Janah Management Company in Newmarket handling operations in busy horse shipping offices. Kim now manages a large part of our ground operations as well as managing quarantines in foreign locations for competing horses.
